Voting Systems Standards: Available for Public Comment

Posted 3 Jul 2001 at 03:09 UTC by tgw Share This

For those who aren't completely sick of hearing about voting and voting systems, the US Federal Election Commission (FEC) just posted the latest version of their Voting Systems Standards (VSS) online for public comment. The original US VSS (1990) were only available in hardcopy format, so few people ever saw them. By making the revised draft available online, the FEC is taking a positive step forward and will likely benefit from having "many eyes" helping to improve the VSS.

Deadline for Submitting Comments: 10 September 2001, posted 10 Jul 2001 at 20:43 UTC by tgw » (Journeyer)

The FEC's notice on the updated Voting Systems Standards (VSS) was announced in today's Federal Register. Anyone interested in submitting comments on the VSS need to do so on or before 10 September 2001.
