Saratoga - transport protocol for big data

The Saratoga protocol was presented to the Internet Engineering Task Force earlier this month.
Saratoga is used to deliver imagery from remote-sensing satellites, but has applications in Big Data, with its ability to scale to deliver even yottabyte-size files. What possible applications are there, out there, for this?

Saratoga is documented and described in internet-drafts, academic papers, reports and presentations.
