Working on a new book about how to defend yourself against the idiocy of government policy. See it here: MicroSecession.

EFF's Surveillance Self Defence, posted 8 Aug 2013 at 09:00 UTC by chalst » (Master)

The EFF's have started a site [SSD], which is also about defending yourself against some of the same threats. It is practical rather than political.

I am not impressed that some governments activities are evil. For example, I do not think the low, moderate levels of inflation seen with well-run national central banks are farmful. Likewise, commodity-based currencies, such as the gold standard and the not-really-existent Bitcoin economy, do not give price stability in the short-to-medium term: the value of money tends to be very volatile in such economies. Finally, I am not convinced that the worst evils of commodity-based currencies are worse than even the worst fiat currencies - the histories I have seen of currency failures have uniformly been very partial. I would like what I have seen of MicroSession more if it simply ditch this kind of big talk. Is it really necessary for your book?
